NLSIU Bangalore was the first National Law University established in the year 1986 through a series of collective efforts by the Bar Council of India, Bangalore University, Government of Karnataka, the Karnataka Bar Council, and is known to develop a new era of legal education in India.
NLSIU was one of the first institutions in the country to introduce a five year integrated LL.B. course in the country starting from the year 1988. NLSIU Bangalore, because of the excellence it offers in the field of legal education is also referred to as “Harvard of the East”. Life at NLSIU brings you a beautiful 23 acre campus comprising all the modern facilities such as library, gymnasium, sports facilities.
NLSIU offers B.A. L.L.B.(Hons.) programme to students right after 12th to inculcate interdisciplinary intellect in the student and make them socially aware lawyers.
