CLAT is indeed one of the most competitive law entrance exams in India as it is tough to crack mainly because CLAT has high-cutoffs. So it would be wise to start your preparation as early as possible.
However, you can still make it in 4 months if you are consistent and dedicated. While some candidates prepare for at least 12 months, some prepare for only a few months and still crack the exam. In the first month of CLAT preparation, start from the basics and build a solid ground. It is crucial to get yourself acquainted with the exam pattern, syllabus, and weightage of all the sections.
Commence by understanding the concepts from verbal, English, math, and reasoning one at a time. Also, make sure to read newspapers, magazines, articles, etc regularly to improve your grammar and communication skills.
Make a note containing all the importation information from each subject so that it is easier for you to refer to it during the revision stage.
Make sure that you learn the concepts and topics from GK, current affairs, and legal aptitude within the first month.
Figure out your weak points by taking diagnostic tests or by solving past years’ papers on CLAT to track down where your weaknesses and strengths lie so that you can analyze yourself and work on where it needs improvement.
Now that you have a good understanding of the basics, delve deeper into each section of CLAT.
Go through the previous topics that you have already learned such as GK, current affairs, and law so that you don’t forget them.
Continue with the revisions and also try solving previous years’ questions and take mock tests as much as you can.
Do not attempt to read any new topics at this time as this might only lead to confusion and forgetting of the things that you have learned.
