As expected, the Consortium released the official provisional answer key for the exam on December 2, 2024, at 4 PM, just 24 hours after the conclusion of the exam.
Candidates are advised to carefully compare their responses with the answer key to estimate their expected scores. It is essential to note that the provisional answer key may undergo revisions based on candidate feedback and verifications.
The provisional CLAT 2025 answer key contains the official answers to the questions asked in the CLAT 2025 exam. It has been released by the Consortium of NLUs, who were the paper-setters for the exam.
Usually, the Consortium releases the CLAT answer key on the same as the exam and this time was no different. This answer key was much awaited by the students; considering the probable mistakes or issues with an entire set of questions in the Logical Reasoning section.

The release of the answer key brings relief to the most discussed concern; whether students will be given grace marks for that particular question or those questions will be completely ignored making the CLAT 2025 short of questions.
One important aspect every student must note is that the release of this provisional answer key does not ensure the finality of the correct answers, for they still get an opportunity in the name of Objections against this answer key to contest.
The CLAT result is only based on the final CLAT answer key and not the provisional answer key.
Students may raise objections against the provisional CLAT 2025 answer key from December 2, 4:00 PM to December 3, 4:00 PM.
If any student believes that the answer they marked is better in terms of reasoning and facts than the answer the Consortium has released, then they may stand a chance to contest that answer.
Students have to pay â¹1,000 against every and any answer they may feel that they want to object. Additionally, students can also contest the righteousness of questions as well(which many of you would have for the AR question in the Logical Reasoning section).
Step 1: Visit the official CLAT website and log in with your registered mobile number and date of birth/password.
Step 2: Look for the 'Submit Objections' link.
Step 3: After that, you can select the sort of objection they want to raise under the 'Submit Objections' button.
Step 4: Provide the reason for objection with specific information and a conclusion.
Step 5: Once done, submit the objection.
Here's a concise way to understand how to calculate CLAT scores using the answer key:
For example, if you have 70 correct answers and 20 wrong answers,
CLAT score = 70 - (20 × 0.25) = 70 - 5 = 65 marks
